Dafne

Charming and beautiful Naiad-nymph, Daphne means laurel.

Daphne is the daughter of nature, born from the union of mother earth Gea and the river god Peneus. Mythology tells that river god Peneus saved her from the persecutions of god Apollo by transforming her into a laurel tree when she had no escape. From this moment Apollo began flattering the laurel, as if to relive the echo of a lost love. The plant is personified to represent the hidden symbol of a larger concept, the sacred.

The collection is inspired by this relentless pursuit but also and above all by this divine power of nature within women. In these beautiful, eternally young girls who exude floral essence.

This is the feminine touch that completes the meaning of laurel plant which in Greek and Roman mythology was associated with glory and wisdom. The circularity of the laurel wreath in my mind immediately recalls the eternal succession of this perpetual desire that has been missed and remained suspended. Poets, emperors, and victorious military leaders were crowned to sanction their merit. The laurel is therefore full of meanings and immediately leads to Rome.

Wearing the laurel means highlighting a value that recalls Rome and brings us in a nature made of evergreen leaves that do not yield to adverse seasons. It means adorning and celebrating the beauty that never fades and remains alive. The same beauty sought in vain by poets and artists who want to chase it, capture, block, stop in that moment where it is silent, perfect and unchanged by time. Eternal.
